Experience the thrill of actually flying in a replica of the Wright B Flyer—the first mass-produced airplane in the world—at The Wright
B Flyer Museum.
The plane and museum, located at the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport in Miamisburg,
Ohio just south of Dayton, offers you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience
the same sensations of flight as early aviation pioneers.
The original Wright Brothers Model B Airplane was designed to provide pilot training
and reconnaissance for the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1911 to 1914...the same
model that first flew over Huffman Prairie in 1911.
This replica, with a wingspan of 38 feet 6 inches, first took to the
skies in July 1982. It has a takeoff speed of 41 miles per hour, with a cruising
speed of 60 mph and cruising range of up to 100 miles. The Wright B Flyer seats
two: you and the pilot.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can join and take flight on the Wright B Flyer that
replicates the Wright brothers' original flight pattern. When not in flight,
the aircraft is available for viewing in the museum/hanger, along with other
related historical displays. Whether you choose to take the flight or admire
